Performance Testing
RE: C.L.E.A.N. Power Additives May, 2002
To introduce myself, I am Frank Davey of the 49 Davey Race Team. I race at a short track oval in the Barrie area. Being a past track champion and missing the last 2001 championship by only 5 points, I am always looking for extra power when running in a restricted engine class, that is limited to very few power enhancements.
After numerous conversations about octane, fuel burn rate and leaning of the air/fuel ratio, it was then decided to try the fuel at some invitational races against some cars that have more power.
Without a jet change, there was a noticeable gain in power and the engine idle was raised between 25 to 50 RPM. The engine felt crisper from mid range to top end. All around, the engine felt like new. Not like the race worn engine that it had become. When changing the oil it seemed cleaner and upon inspection of the spark plugs, there was a slight leaning and a better colouring of the plugs.
I am very impressed with your product and look forward to more product testing.
Yours Truly, Frank Davey
RE: C.L.E.A.N. Power Additives June, 2002
As a representative of a shop that modifies various cars that are used for street and strip duty, it was interesting to hear that a new fuel was going to be available. We understood that the octane rating could be as high as 98 and C.L.E.A.N. Power Additives was made up of a special blend of naphtha and alcohol oxygenates. We decided to try it. Once we received our fuel, we tried it on the test car, a 1978 Malibu (350 low compression, 4 speed, 3:73 gears). The engine liked it and seemed to gain power and felt more crisp.
Testing results:
Test 1 Baseline for the 1978 Malibu was 12.92 seconds at 105 mph using VP racing fuel. Test 2 The car untouched and filled with C.L.E.A.N. Power Additives ran a 12.71 seconds at 108 mph.
I would like to thank Mark for his help and persistence in changing the ways of a longtime VP fuel user into a future C.L.E.A.N. Power Additives customer. More fuel for other vehicles would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You, Scott Dickson
